The Medical University of South Carolina hired Unimedia Productions to create a video showing what it is like to live and work as an O-HNS Resident at their hospital. Trinity Hutzler was the editor who pieced together the story through the use of interviews, graphics, and b-roll. She also assisted with filming and asked questions during the resident interviews to help pull out information needed to create a smooth, well-rounded story.
I was involved in this project from start to finish. On filming day I came along as a production assistant, not only was I there to help the team but I was also there to learn and experience the real daily life of the residents that I would ultimately need to get across for the final video. All of the beginning graphics were made by someone else but that was about the only aspect of the video I was not involved with. Ultimately, this video is showing off the great quality of life and community that residents have during their experience at the hospital in order to encourage students around the state or country to apply. It was a pretty long video for what it was but there was also a lot of information to share. It was important to keep the viewer engaged throughout so I went for more interesting visuals and a strong yet fast paced and meaningful story.
